Let's see how long he drives in into the NoVA winter.

It's not quite BRG, close though.

Indeed.

He drove it through the tail end of past winter actually.

Yes. It has a roll cage too. Although, the exhaust is a bit loud.

Kinja'd!!!1

Yeah, I didn't think it was BRG. It's more of a "forest" or maybe a "hunter." Beautiful car. Quite an upgrade.

Holy crap, I think that's my parents' neighborhood!

I know exactly the guy you're talking about, I saw him pull into the driveway when I was visiting a few weekends ago and did a double-take because of what I've seen him with before. Much respect.

So it's not quite loud enough then? It ought to be quite loud. A bit loud doesn't quite get you there.

He's probably been waiting a long time to get his hands on that to start with. Good on him for finally getting it.

Black Mustang, New York plates.

Yes, I've seen that before. I've always wondered why a NY Mustang was there. Manual?

Its the V6.

I think there is another Auto V6 in the neighborhood.

the exhaust is a bit loud.

Working as designed. If this doesn't wake you up in the morning, he's doing it wrong. Roll cage is awesome —dude apparently didn't buy a project car.

Don't recall seeing it, but they don't really stand out either, plus I don't live in the neihgborhood anymore (though I was around a lot this past summer). I know a gut down the street has a VW-Porsche 914, and someone else on the circle has a late '40s/early '50s 2-door sedan. I think its a Ford, but I haven't seen it out and about in a while.

Kinja'd!!! Alex B > ranwhenparked
10/16/2014 at 16:41

Kinja'd!!!0

The guy with the 914 also has a 533i, I guess that's his restoration project. The car in the garage is a Dodge iirc. This neighborhood is pretty good car-wise in my opinion.

Kinja'd!!! ranwhenparked > Alex B

Kinja'd!!!0

Oh that's right, it is a Dodge. I used to house sit for that family when they went on vacation back in the '90s, but it's been a while since I've seen it. I know they used to rent it out for weddings.

Just outside the neighborhood, on Skyline, there's a guy with a Scirocco and an Audi 5000 wagon, he had a beautifully maintained Mercedes W123 previously, and I know there's at least one other MG B running around.

Kinja'd!!! Alex B > ranwhenparked

The Scirroco is for sale, and he has a CLS 63 AMG now.

New project time I guess, I think the Scirocco replaced the W123.

Kinja'd!!! Alex B > ranwhenparked
10/17/2014 at 20:16

The Scirroco belongs to his son.

Kinja'd!!! ranwhenparked > Alex B
10/17/2014 at 20:37

Kinja'd!!!0

I think the Audi is the son's too. One of them supposedly got hit by a drunk not too long ago, but obviously didn't do that much damage. They are parked kind of precariously.

People up the street from them used to park an '80s Galant out front as a traffic calmer, it wound up getting keyed pretty bad.

Kinja'd!!! Alex B > ranwhenparked
10/17/2014 at 20:54

Kinja'd!!!

Yes. It used to be an Audi sedan. Now it's a wagon. I don't recall the Galant, but I remeber people parking on the street there all the time.
